Class Goals

This class is for girls who have completed the list of requirements in Girls Level 2 to move up to Level 3. Skills gained in this class prepare students for Level 4, the first level of competitive gymnastics. Students will learn back tumbling as well as various skills on beam, bars and vault which form the set of compulsory requirements of USA Gymnastics.  Conditioning focuses on the development of the muscle groups in the lower body. Each weekly class is 2 hours long and includes a 10 minute warm up, conditioning, and multiple events.

Pike sit touch toes

Straddle sit forehead touch floor

Half splits stretch

Front handspring over 30” block (correct body form)

 

Bars

Front hip circle

Glide (proper form)

Mill circle

Under swing dismount

 

Beam

Kick handstand come back to beam (floor beam)

Cartwheel (floor beam)

Back walk over (floor beam)

 

Floor

Back extension roll to a handstand (straight arms)

Front handspring

Front tuck (of a spring board, land on the floor)

Round off back handspring

 

Trampoline

Front tuck flip

Back tuck flip

 

Conditioning

Handstand on the floor (hold for 5 seconds)

15 second L hold hanging on a bar

15 second L hold no parallets

15 push ups on beams

7 pull ups

10” rope climb with no legs
