Class Goals
This beginners class is a great workout and teaches basic self defense. Strength and flexibility are gained as Coaches Sky and Josh teach students breathing and meditation methods, stance training, strikes, throws, and controlled sparing.
Class outline
* Martial arts philosophy
* Breathing (meditation of breath)
* Cardio (high energy training to warm the body up)
* Flexibility (stretching, breathing and time)
* Stance training (rooting into the ground to create strong foundations)
* Strikes (punches, elbows, kicks, knees, etc...)
* Throws and joint locks (reflecting and submitting energy)
* Controlled sparing without weapons (real combative, non ego, respectful fighting)
* Controlled sparing with weapons (safely and progressively learning movement with weapons and people)
* Introduction to breaking boards and bricks (conditioning using palming bags)
* Strength conditioning
